Load a DVD Movie onto your iPod

Here you will learn how to take one of your DVD’s and load the movie onto your iPod.

For this tutorial we will be using Handbrake which is a free download.

  1. Insert your DVD into your Mac and wait for it to load. Quit the DVD Player if it opens because HandBrake won’t work while the DVD is playing.
  2. Open up HandBrake and you should see a window asking for you to locate the DVD.
  3. Select your DVD so you see the Audio & Video TS Folders and click Open.
  4. HandBrake will begin scanning your DVD for the movie
  5. Once it has finished scanning it should automatically select the Movie.
  6. On the right select “iPod” or “iPhone/iPod Touch” under the presets
  7. Pick the location you want to save your movie
  8. When you are all done it should look something like this:
  9. Now just Hit Start at the top and you movie will encode. (Depending on the speed of your computer this can take a few hours)
  10. When it’s all done just drag the file into iTunes and and you are finished.
